Maya Charleston Coming Soon

Maya Charleston, GA

Closed December 22nd, 2024

On Charleston’s vibrant Upper King Street, Maya brought an elevated take on Mexican cuisine from its authentic Al Pastor and Birria tacos to the richly flavored Albondigas and Chile Relleno. The menu was a celebration of Mexico’s diverse regional traditions and bold flavors inspired by classic techniques and coastal influences.

After three memorable years of serving locals and visitors Maya closed its doors in December 2024. What began as inspiration from team travels, Maya aspired to transport guests through the cuisine and culture of Mexico. While many put great effort and passion into creating a concept we believed in, it ultimately did not resonate with our guests as we had hoped, even with evolutions over the years.

During its time, Maya earned notable recognition, including being named among Eater’s “Hottest New Restaurants in Charleston” and Charleston City Paper’s Best Bites and Sips. The restaurant was also featured in Eater’s “Where to Drink in Charleston Right Now” and Pure Wow’s “16 Best Restaurants in Charleston”.

We are incredibly grateful for the support we received from our guests and community. Thank you for being a part of this journey.

The Indigo Road is excited to announce plans for a transformation of the space in 2025. The Cocktail Club, located on the second floor, remains open and ready to welcome guests.
